Dansko

Dansko is a comfort-footwear company founded in 1990 by husband-and-wife horse trainers Peter Kjellerup and Mandy Cabot, who discovered Danish clogs while working with dressage horses. Now based in West Grove, its line spans clogs, sandals, boots, and sneakers, with reported annual revenue exceeding $120 million. The founders launched an employee stock ownership plan in 2005 and by 2012 the company was 100% employee-owned, having turned down a roughly $100 million acquisition offer from Timberland to sell to employees instead. Dansko has been a Certified B Corporation since 2007.
