Annovis Bio

Annovis Bio is a Phase 3 clinical-stage biotech developing oral therapies for neurodegenerative diseases, principally Alzheimer's and Parkinson's. Founded in 2008 as QR Pharma by biochemist Dr. Maria Maccecchini, who still serves as CEO and chair, it rebranded before its 2020 IPO. Its lead candidate, buntanetap, is a once-daily oral drug designed to inhibit multiple neurotoxic proteins including amyloid-beta, tau, and alpha-synuclein. In 2026 it reached full enrollment in a pivotal Phase 3 early-Alzheimer's trial across dozens of U.S. sites.
